Okra is a flowering plant belonging to the mallow family, and has origins in temperate regions including South Asia.
This vegetable looks and tastes unique. The outside is soft and fuzzy while the inside of the pod contains small edible seeds which create a distinctive viscous juice. Taste wise, think mild, grassy flavours.
